Confirmation has historically been a major milestone in a child’s faith journey as it is a time for the child to be rooted deeper in their faith. In Confirmation, a child is given the opportunity to dive into their faith, to learn how to articulate and defend it, and even more so, how to live out their faith in the world today.

In Scripture, we hear numerous encouragements to raise and grow a child in their faith. In Deuteronomy 6, we read, “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

In Proverbs 22, we read, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

Our hope in Confirmation is to work alongside you and your family in this next step of your child’s faith journey: that their faith isn’t something simply passed down to them but that they begin to take greater ownership of it so that the joy of the kingdom of God is theirs throughout their life. So we hope to work alongside you as God works through both you as parents and through His Church to grow your child’s faith to be ready to face all the joys and challenges of life here on this earth.

Our Youth Confirmation education begins typically when children enter into the 6th grade and goes for 2-3 years. We hold an orientation meeting for our Confirmation program in August and hold classes during the school year. If you are interested in learning more, please contact the church office and ask for the pastor.

Pastor’s Information Class

The Pastors Adult Information Class (PAC) is offered periodically throughout the year. Call the office for dates and times.

This class is the study for those interested in becoming members of St. Luke’s or can be used as a class to review the basic teachings of the Christian Church from a Lutheran Perspective.

Each session will be 1 ½ hours. A book will be provided entitled, “God For Us”.
We will also have Bibles available for students. Those attending are also welcome to bring their own Bibles. There will be about 8 sessions on Thursdays throughout the fall. If you need a day time class we will work to arrange for this. Please invite others who might be interested in joining or reviewing our Christian teachings.
